American Standard Furnace
QUESTION:I'm looking into replacing my furnace. Considering American Standard
and Carrier. Does anyone has any experience with these two brands? I know
they're big companies, but not sure how good they're. I'm considering the
mid-efficiency type furnace. Any help would be appreciated.
ANSWER: American Standard...nothing runs like a Trane...ahh...sound familiar?
Carrier...the company that thinks the world is a guinea pig...try this..it
MIGHT work....and if it does not...well...there is always next time.
Sorry..that's what I think of Carrier, and the entire Carrier line.
Both are good companies.
Now...parts, after warranty period is up, on both lines are expensive, but
also proprietary...just like Lennox.
Best bet..forget names at first. Shop for a company that will take YOUR
NEEDS and not just your wants into consideration, makes sure that the units
are installed, and sized correctly, and you feel comfortable with.
Then, find out what they sell.
There are several excellent unit out there for the money, but, you have to
keep in mind that no matter what line you go with, there will be several
different models, in several different price ranges, that will essentially
do the job, but so do it better and cheaper than others, but the trade off
is initial up front cost.
