QUESTION:I have an HVAC installer who has given me two quotes - one for a
Carrier oil furnace/AC system, the other for an Armstrong oil
furnace/AC system. Here are some specifics:
Armstrong Ultra LBF 82% oil furnace
Armstrong Concept 1300 13 SEER A/C
10 yr compressor warranty
5 yr on all other parts
Carrier 58CMA oil furnace
Carrier 38TDB two-speed 17 SEER A/C
Thermostat
10 yr parts and labor warranty
When comparing these two systems, what factors should I consider?
Would anyone recommend one of these systems over the other. The
Carrier system was priced ~$500 more.
ANSWER:
Even though I am not a fan of Carrier, if my *only* choices were Carrier or
Armstrong, I would have to go with the Carrier.
