lennox gas furnace question
QUESTION:i have a lennox gas furnace, model G24MCE3-60A-2T. i installed the
unit in my own house in october 1997 and have just replaced the
control circuit boardfor the second time. both showed signs of heat on
the back of the printed circuit. have any of you had a similar
experience with these units. is there some sort of recall i don't know
about or something? i am not interested in having to buy a new circuit
board every year or so just to stay warm.
ANSWER: I have two Concord gas-fired furnaces with circuit boards for ignition
(I suspect these furnaces are related to Lennox, Armstrong, etc). One
in the attic and one in the basement. Installed in 97. I have had to
have the circuit boards replaced every year. There is something
definitely wrong with the design.
