My furnace duct fan booster is too loud Is there a secret to making it quiet?
QUESTION:I have a long furnace run and need something to increase heat/cooling to distant area. Are all in duct furnace fans noisy or are there quieter models or specific installation secrets to lessen the noise?
ANSWER: It could be that the fan is out of balance due to dust build up on the vanes. Otherwise increase the size of the ducts near to the heater and this will decrease the velocity of the air and therefor run quieter. Its all down to design of the system, have you increased the number of outlets since the system was first installed?
