QUESTION:I have a ~1998 York Air Hnadler. From the manual it doesn't appear to
have a HUM terminal. But it does have a a low voltage control
connection. The manual says: "The 24 volt power supply is provided by an internally wired low
voltage transformer which is standard on all models. It has two
terminals on the control board." Now I am assuming these are always "on" and not on only when the fan
is on correct? And because of that I need the current sensing
relay....
ANSWER: They dont have a Hum terminal...however...:)....there are about 4 ways
around that.. Yup...sure does...a R and a C..
That control board, BTW, aint real cheap. They are indeed always..."on".
There are a couple of ways you can do this...the mean and dirty way is to
mount a contactor and get a 220V humidifier, and allow the board to send
signal to the contactor...the best way, is the way that Aprilaire says to do
and thats buy the current sensing relay, and make sure you have it sensing
the correct voltage, at the right time, or else you will be running the unit
when you are in AC mode.
