QUESTION:I need the gas control valve (12volt) for my dutherm furnace.I,m new at this
motor home thing and I,v fixed about everything there is on my recent
purchase !!! boy have I learned a lot in the last few months.
Is there any used parts out there? Is Dutherm out of business?Does a
replacement valve really cost 120 bucks ?
ANSWER: I'm not as familiar with 12V furnaces as I am with home heating systems but,
I do know that it is a big risk to use used gas valves. You won't know the
history of the part. A gas valve that has been under water has the risk of
locking open. I'm
not willing to expose my family, home, MH to that risk.
$120 sounds about right for the list price of a valve. Especially one that
may not be a universal style. OEM is always more expensive.
