QUESTION:But I imagine that I am
the kind of snotty and ungovernable wench that would have been sold in the
Byzantine slave market to some wickedly dark and cultured Eastern potentate with
indoor plumbing. Or at least one would hope so.
I like indoor plumbing but fixing a problem we had here last night
wasn't much fun. I figured my wife would deal with it sooner or later.
She let me know that I was wrong.
I had to upgrade the plumbing in this house. That is - I called a plumber.
ANSWER: I don't really like doing work around the house but I will if I have
to do it. I'm about as far from a handyman as you can get and still
have the skills required to complete most jobs. I built some houses
with my father when I was a kid so I learned the basics. Also, I did
all my own house repair work (including furnace repair) when I was a
home owner. I would rather be drinking a glass of wine and reading a
good book.
