Furnace Trouble Shooting

QUESTION:

I' am trying to remove the furnace for troubleshooting , but it seems to be caught on something in the back. According to the manual the internal section should slide out once the two screws in the front are removed and the gas line is disconnected. It is a series 66000 what am I doing wrong ?

ANSWER:

just a guess- it is stuck to the exhaust vent. I ended up having to remove the vent cover and stove pipe to get mine free. I unfastened the exterior cover, and twisted it a little. When replacing I lightly sanded off the rust and it slid right in.
