QUESTION:I have a gas heating furnace by goodman manufacturing company. It doesn't
have a pilot light, it uses an ignition device. The electric blower works,
nothing is wrong with my gas lines. When and after I attempt to reset the
system; flipping breaker switch, gas control switch, turning down
thermostat, waiting 5 minutes, then turning everything back on. The blower
comes on, and normally it would be making an attempt to ignite. It appears
from observation that it is unable to ignite. Therefore I assume the problem
could be the ignition device. Am I correct? If so where could I find this
device, and do I need to replace it? If I do need to replace it, is there
anything to be aware of when I remove/replace the unit? Please be kind to
give me any necessary help, it is getting pretty darn cold now.
ANSWER: There is much more to a 90% furnace than just an ignition board. it could be a
pressure switch, or a clogged flue etc.. the list goes on. it would be best
to call a local company to check this for you.
