QUESTION:Need to service snap switches in upper part of Dearborn gas wall furnace. They
are behind the fan. Removed allen set screw from fan but it won't come off the
shaft. Am I missing something or do I need a bigger hammer.
ANSWER: Check for a second set screw. Sometimes the second set screw is about
90 degrees to the first on the shaft. Occasionally you'll find a
situation where there's a second set screw in the same hole as the first
-- using the outer screw as a "lock nut" of sorts for the inner one.
